Job Looking For: Lead Carpenter for Busy Remodeling Firm!
If you are the team member we are looking for, you love being in charge of residential remodeling projects, and part of a team! You have strong communication, client management and mentoring skills, and love a fast-paced environment.
You’ll be…friendly, communicative, and organized. You’ll have high standards and be described as detail-oriented, and creative problem solver and a team leader. You’ll be responsible for four major roles at W.E. Davies & Sons Remodeling:
- Clerical
- Reviewing project binder/plans (notes-questions for production meeting)
- Set production meeting dates
- Build Job schedule and maintain
- Ordering of materials
- Production meeting on larger jobs – Hours estimated / Materials
- Final Job review of hours and wins/losses on the job
- Change orders
- Leadership
- Communication with clients daily / weekly updating schedule
- Supervise subcontractor management/scope of work/work through
- Jobsite safety and security / document and report any instanced
- Supervise field crew responsibilities and tasks
- Coordinate team members for your jobs
- On site training of apprentice carpenters
- Production
- Tools/equipment list or Rental (porta toilet / Dumpster) needed onsite
- Running vehicle stock and tool maintenance with carpenter working with you
- Site setup / dust protection
- site demolition / layout
- Project build
- Install finish product
- site clean up
- Hand tools required by employee (Carpenters tool belt/pouches, hammer, trim pry bar, 25’ tape measure, 3 pcs nail set, folding ruler, caulk line, speed square, 6” combination square, pliers, utility knife, 6–1 screwdriver, Scribe/compose, 1 aviation and 1 straight tin snips, 8” sliding T bevel, 3 chisel set ¼”, ½”, ¾”, 9” torpedo level, block plain)
- Management
- Site visit with project manager and owner
- Schedule initial walkthrough
- View and Adjust schedule for product arrival
- Contact subcontractors of start date
- Daily logs of any change or instances
- Take photo’s & upload into Job file

THE REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of residential remodeling experience
- Self-motivated
- Ability to coordinate subs and vendors and FULLY remodel bathrooms, kitchens, additions, decks, loft spaces, etc.
- Job Type: Full-time
- Salary: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour

If you love overseeing your own projects, and being part of a team, this could be the position for you! You must have effective communication, client interaction, and handyman/carpentry skills in a demanding environment.
You will be responsible for the following in our handyman role out of our McFarland-based office:
All handyman projects – these are generally quick turnaround
Creative problem-solving
Residential carpentry, installations, and repair work
Able to learn and work through our CRM system on a computer
Able to learn and work through our CRM system on a computer
