Basement Remodel

Creating a Safe and Engaging Lower Level for a Sensory-Friendly Remodel

An existing client reached out to us for a remodel to the lower level of a home where their Son needed a sensory room, that provided a safe space for him. This basement remodel consists of a rec area to play games, a place to watch movies and shows, an indoor swing to relax, a kitchenette of his own along with a bedroom with a walk-through closet to the bathroom.

Designing a Functional and Comfortable Sensory Room: Overcoming Challenges

A sensory room is a safe, controlled space that provides a variety of sensory experiences to help people engage with their senses. Usually a space with special lighting, sounds, and objects.

Obstacles were planning a space to have all of the necessities for him to live comfortably on his own. We considered lighting, open space concept for activities, and an area to relax.

The crew was professional, friendly, and communicated with us at every step of the way. Results were exactly what we were looking for.

The Results

The results turned out fantastic, and the homeowner(s) were grateful to have a staff that was caring and willing to go the extra mile to make their Son feel comfortable while we were there for the renovations.
